One evening, Raju runs fast with his daughter Jincy who's 10 year old to catch Trivandrum Express from Chennai Central. Raju and his wife were software engineers working in chennai . Jincy their only daughter studying 5th standard lives with them. Its Summer Holiday Season, Raju parents forced him to send his daughter to their native town. Since Raju and his wife were busy in their project work, they decided to send Jincy alone.
Raju catches the train, its about only
5mins to leave. Raju told Jincy, “Don't worry, grandma will pick you at Kayan
Kulam station. One more thing, when you reach station just cross check with GPS
whether you are at right station and then get down”. Near by Berth there was a
old lady. Her age around 50. She introduce herself as Sushi. She told Raju,
“Don’t worry, My station is Kollam. I will take care of her ”. Raju replied,
“Thanks mom this is first time she travels alone”. Raju said to Jincy, “Take
care baby. I will see you this week end”. Train whistling and started moving
slowly. Raju get down train with tears.
Jincy was happy and little bit
nervous. Train speed slowly increased and moved fast. She pleased nature and
its beauty from side window. She surprised with sun set behind mountain. Every
one in the train started having their dinner. Jincy opened her snacks box and
had some snacks. Its almost around 8 P.M Jincy started sleeping in her berth.
Sushi asked Jincy, “Oh Dear Jincy ,if you want any thing just wake me up”.
Jincy relaxed by hearing some songs
and slept in her berth. After a while around 12 AM, Train moved slowly with 5
km speed. Jincy slowly opened her eyes. Train stopped with small shake. Jincy
switch on her mobile and checked Google map. Its GPS pointed Kayan Kulam
Station. All of a sudden Jincy waked up and checked GPS again. Again its points
at Kayan Kulam. She looked for Sushi. As
Sushi was sleeping in upper birth. Jincy can’t wake her up. Train whistling
sounds loud. Once Jincy heard train sound, she got down from the train.
Train started moving slowly. At
certain point train got vanished at a distance in darkness. Jincy eyes were
searching for her grand mother. But no one else there its almost darker than
dark. Slowly moon light shines. Its brightness increased. Jincy now realised it
was not a station. She got down at a wrong place. Jincy face slowly turns in to
fear. She don’t know what too do. She was almost hopeless. Jincy lights on her
Mobile torch. Light penetrates through mist. She found the railway track. She
got an idea ,”Walking on rail way track will be safe, at the same time I might
reach near by station or villages some
were around for help”. Jincy started walking along the rail track for a while
with her mobile torch.
Jincy walked almost 1km, she felt that
some body pulls her hand back. When she
turns back there was a monkey which tries to pick her mobile. Jincy
frightened and put mobile down. Monkey
crabbed mobile and starts running. Jincy chased
monkey. Monkey ran inside the forest and fly over the branches. She
can’t sees monkey any more. Its a dark forest, Wolfs howled
in a threatening mode. Air sounds like a wild monster . Jincy was in mid
of dark forrest. She had no clue how to
get rid of this forest.
She afraid of darkness. But there was
no other option for her. She closed her eyes and walked slowly. Jincy felt
heart beat. Her heart beats fast. She heard some strange sounds all around. She
never opened her eyes and walked step by step. After a minutes of walk, She
heard sound of water falls. She opened
her eyes. Its big water falls at a distance . Looking falls at night itself a
strange experience. Full moon light falls on the water and shines like a silver falls. She amazed with
adventure and nervous with night.
“Hey baby, what are you doing here?” a
voice heard from right side of darkness. Jincy turned right and looked at the
darkness. she felt some one approaching her. In moon light she saw a tall old
man with long hair and face full of beard. His dress almost torn and dirty. He
took a torch from his pocket and lights at Jincy face. Jincy got frightened due to his strange appearance and behavior.
Tall man asked Jincy, “How did you come here?”. Jincy cried at old
man and told all her stories. Old man told Jiny, “Don’t worry my child, I will
take you to near by station follow me”.
Old man started walking, Jincy followed his legs. After a hour of walk ,
the old man suddenly stopped his walk. Jincy hit on his knees and felt down.
When she gets up and saw tall man. His body alone standing without head. She
looked again closer. Now Old man’s head
comes close to her ears and said. “Hi baby shall we go”. She saw head
without body approaching her. She looked
for old man body. it was his graveyard. Wolf howls at top of mountain. She shouted in fear which
was louder than any. She ran away from there.
At a distance she heard train whistle sound. She never looked around, started running towards train sound. To catch the train she needs to walk over a river bridge. Its a Narrow railway bridge above dark river of nearby water falls. It seems like haunted bridge. Jincy running towards train in opposite
direction. she never worried about any thing. Her only focus to catch train.
She runs over the river bridge as fast as a last day in her life. All of a
sudden her leg got stuck in the railway track and she felt down. Train approached
her very fast with high whistle sound. She was almost unconscious. “Jincy,
Jincy” a voice from long distance heard. she realized its her grandma voice.
Jincy slowly opened her eyes. Her grand mother was standing in front of her.
She couldn’t imagine where she was. Opened her eyes fully and saw its train.
She was in her berth. she realised its all bad dream. Her grand mother says,
“Jincy Dear, Get up. Lets got home”. Jincy started crying at her Grand mother
in happiness. Grand mother hugged her. Jincy got down from train and went with
his grand mother happily.
